Description
Can you imagine writing in a notebook created specifically for fountain pens?
With the FMP Notebook No. 1, that experience is now real.
Every fountain pen user knows the frustration: a beautiful nib that does not glide properly,
ink that feathers, colours that shift, or writing that bleeds through to the other side of the page.
I spent a long time searching for a notebook that would meet my expectations at a reasonable price —
but I could never find the right one.
So I decided to create it myself.
In total, I tested 864 different types of paper with various fountain pens,
nib sizes, and inks. After five months of intensive testing, I narrowed the selection down to four
paper types in different weights. I continued refining the choice until I finally found the paper
that delivered the writing experience I was looking for.
The result is the FMP Notebook No. 1 — a minimalist A5 notebook designed for people
who actually write with fountain pens.
I wanted it to look clean, functional, and refined — something you can comfortably take to a business
meeting, keep on your desk, or use every day. The exposed spine allows the notebook to stay open from
the very first page, without needing to hold it down with your other hand.
The first edition comes in a ruled version. I tested multiple line spacings — down to differences of
0.1 mm — with nibs ranging from EF to B. The final spacing was selected to work comfortably with
EF, F, M, OM, B, and OB nibs.
From the first idea to the finished product, this notebook took eight months of focused work.
I truly believe it offers the kind of writing experience fountain pen users have been looking for.

This notebook is simply extraordinary. From the moment I opened the cover, the concern in its construction was evident: the A5 footprint is perfectly balanced in hand, appropriately sized on a table, and the exposed spine ensures every page lies genuinely level. The smooth paper has a pleasant and dignified heft that inspires one to transcribe one’s life story. The minimalist design is elegant without effort—no elastic bands, unpleasing hallmarks, or cumbersome covers—just a durable, purposeful instrument of mindfulness that is unobtrusive in terms of line weight and spacing. It is suitable for home, study, reflective journaling, and autobiographical writing due to its substantial yet balanced nature, which spans 200 pages. It’s a receptacle for reminiscing, for opening one’s mind creatively, for illustrating one’s life, for organizing the streams of consciousness, and for appreciating the progress, development, and challenges that life presents. I anticipated a delightful notebook; however, I received a companion—a vessel for recollection, narratives, objectives, and experiences. Modestly refined and resiliently constructed, the notebook serves as a silent custodian to the interpretations of existence. The notebook surpassed my premium expectations and now sets a regulatory benchmark by which I evaluate all others. Filip, I am grateful. I expect to acquire many more over time and aspire to own No. 2 in the near future. —Andrew Stine, Texas, USA.
