Update 12.8.2025

Something I didn’t expect has happened. My FMP Notebook No.1 isn’t working as well with some inks as I had hoped — the paper feathers more than it should. I made a mistake in testing and focused too much on thinner inks, overlooking the thicker ones. I take full responsibility for this.

Here’s what I’m doing about it:

👉 Current notebooks will be sold at a discount, with a clear note that they’re better suited for lighter, wetter inks.

👉 I’m already researching new paper and will release an upgraded version soon.

👉 Everyone who purchased before this announcement will receive the improved notebook free of charge.

I feel truly sorry and honestly a bit embarrassed. But I don’t want to give up — this project means a lot to me. If you use ballpoint, rollerball, or thinner inks and decide to support me by getting one of the discounted notebooks, it would help me continue chasing this dream.

Thank you for being here with me on this journey.

These inks are safe:

🖋️ Montblanc inks (unscented)

🖋️ Pilot Iroshizuku inks

🖋️ Pelikan Edelstein inks

🖋️ Ferris Wheel Press inks

🖋️ Namiki inks

🖋️ Leonardo inks

Can you imagine writing in a notebook designed exclusively for fountain pens? Now you can experience it.

We all know the feeling—your pen doesn’t glide smoothly on the paper, the ink feathers, changes color, or bleeds through to the other side. Personally, I was never able to find a notebook that fully met my expectations at a reasonable price. So I decided to search for a compromise: to create a paper that would be perfect for fountain pens.

In total, I tested 864 different types of paper, using various pens and inks. After five months of intense work, I narrowed it down to four paper types in different weights. I continued testing until I finally arrived at the one—the perfect paper.

I wanted the notebook to have a functional, minimalist design—something you wouldn’t be embarrassed to bring to a business meeting. The spine is exposed so that the notebook stays open from the very first page without needing to hold it down with your other hand.

The first edition of the notebook comes in a ruled version. I tested all kinds of line spacings—down to 0.1 mm—using nibs from EF to B, and found the optimal spacing for writing with EF, F, M, OM, B, and OB nibs.

It took me eight months of focused work to go from idea to finished product—and now, it’s available for you to purchase. I truly believe this notebook will offer you the same exceptional writing experience it gives me.

The notebook is a sustainable product. It is made from FSC-certified paper, and the cover is also made from natural FSC paper without the use of chemical dyes. The notebook is not wrapped in any plastic packaging and does not include unnecessary inserts or promotional papers that are typically thrown away immediately after purchase.

This notebook is simply extraordinary. From the moment I opened the cover, the concern in its construction was evident: the A5 footprint is perfectly balanced in hand, appropriately sized on a table, and the exposed spine ensures every page lies genuinely level. The smooth paper has a pleasant and dignified heft that inspires one to transcribe one’s life story. The minimalist design is elegant without effort—no elastic bands, unpleasing hallmarks, or cumbersome covers—just a durable, purposeful instrument of mindfulness that is unobtrusive in terms of line weight and spacing. It is suitable for home, study, reflective journaling, and autobiographical writing due to its substantial yet balanced nature, which spans 200 pages. It’s a receptacle for reminiscing, for opening one’s mind creatively, for illustrating one’s life, for organizing the streams of consciousness, and for appreciating the progress, development, and challenges that life presents. I anticipated a delightful notebook; however, I received a companion—a vessel for recollection, narratives, objectives, and experiences. Modestly refined and resiliently constructed, the notebook serves as a silent custodian to the interpretations of existence. The notebook surpassed my premium expectations and now sets a regulatory benchmark by which I evaluate all others. Filip, I am grateful. I expect to acquire many more over time and aspire to own No. 2 in the near future. —Andrew Stine, Texas, USA.
